Every business has a mascot. Most of them are made up — a cartoon character, a logo, something designed in a boardroom. Ours is a 100-pound Cane Corso named Roxy who lives in our house, has strong opinions about seat cushions, and has never once let a subpar cart go out without making her feelings known.
If you've followed Camp Cart Rentals for any amount of time, you've heard about Roxy. We figured it was time to properly introduce her.
How Roxy Became Part of the Business
Roxy didn't apply for the job. She was already here when we started planning Camp Cart Rentals, and from the beginning she inserted herself into the process in ways we couldn't really argue with.
The first time we had a cart in our driveway, Roxy conducted a full inspection that involved circling it three times, sniffing every corner, and then climbing into the back seat and sitting down like she'd made a decision. She had. As far as she was concerned, that seat was now hers.
It became a running joke. Then it became a tradition. Now it's just how things work: no cart ships without Roxy's sign-off.
What Roxy's Inspection Actually Involves
We'll be honest — her criteria are not fully documented. But based on years of observation, we've identified what she seems to be evaluating:
Back seat comfort (she sits in it; if she settles, it passes)
Overall cart smell (anything chemical or off gets the nose-wrinkle treatment)
General energy of the situation (she can tell when we're stressed about a delivery; she finds this unacceptable)
Whether Roxy herself has been properly acknowledged before the inspection begins (non-negotiable)
She has never once flagged a cart we didn't already know needed attention. We choose to believe this is because our standards are high, not because she's just enjoying the back seat.
Why Roxy Is Actually Important
Here's the real answer: Roxy is important because she's ours. She's part of our family, which means she's part of everything we do — including this business.
Camp Cart Rentals was built on the idea that a family-owned business does things differently than a corporate one. We care about the details because this is our name, our reputation, and our family passion. Roxy is a living symbol of that. She's not a marketing strategy. She's just our dog, being exactly who she is, in the middle of everything we've built together.
Families who rent from us have started asking about her before they even ask about the cart. We think that's great. It means the warmth we're trying to bring to every rental is coming through.
Can You Meet Roxy?
She comes along on deliveries sometimes, when logistics allow and the weather is right. She is large, immediately friendly with people she likes, and absolutely convinced that every child she meets has been put on this earth specifically to pet her.
If you rent from us and want a chance at a Roxy delivery, mention it when you book. No promises — she has her own schedule and it doesn't always align with ours — but we'll do what we can.
Book your golf cart rental today. Roxy will be expecting you.
